Attention to those who have obtained secondary education abroad: the procedure for transferring grades has changed

The procedure for transferring grades for those who have completed secondary education at foreign institutions and are applying for state-funded studies at Lithuanian higher education institutions has changed.

From this year, the 'one-stop shop' principle is applied: the transfer of grades is carried out by the Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education (SKVC) at the request of the institution organizing the general admission. Applicants no longer need to independently contact SKVC for grade transfer. This procedure does not apply to those applying for vocational training programs.

This procedure does not apply to applicants for vocational training programs.

As in previous years, applicants must submit to the institution organizing the admission a decision on the academic recognition of a foreign qualification, issued by SKVC or a higher education institution.

The procedure was amended by the Order No. V-46 of the Minister of Education, Science and Sports of the Republic of Lithuania on January 20, 2026, which amended Order No. V-932 of June 19, 2020.

More detailed consultations regarding admission are provided by higher education institutions, which can be found in the AIKOS register at https://www.aikos.smm.lt/ and LAMA BPO https://lamabpo.lt/.
